When it comes to party and game day food, one of our favorite things to do is whip up some form of creamy, cheesy filling and bake it up between two layers of crescent roll dough.  I mean, it's hard for something not to be tasty when it's made with buttery, flaky crescent rolls!  Right?

It all started with our always-popular 3-Ingredient Crescent Sausage Bites.  They were the first version of crescent bites we shared here at , and are one of the top most popular recipes we have on the site.  And whenever we bring them anywhere (or make them for ourselves at home), they're gobbled up in no time flat, I tell you.

Since that first sausage crescent bites post, we've experimented with and shared some other variations on the crescent bite theme -- with our favorites being Spinach Dip Crescent Bites and creamy Bacon Crescent Bites.

These creamy little beauties are just perfect for enjoying as a party pick-up or game day snack.  Or hey, cut the squares a little bigger for a quick and easy dinner or brunch.

Now today we've got a new flavor to share with you!  Our newest addition to the crescent bites line-up are these creamy and delicious Crab Crescent Bites.  And we love them just as much as their tasty predecessors.

With their creamy filling that's a mixture of imitation crab meat and cream cheese, these Crab Crescent Bites are reminiscent of those super-tasty fried crab rangoon bites you get at Chinese restaurants.  Oh, how I love me some crab rangoon!

The filling flavor of these bites is similar to crab rangoon, it's just more crab-filled and baked up in crescent rolls instead of fried inside won ton wrappers.

And these creamy little beauties are just perfect for enjoying as a party pick-up or game day snack.  Or hey, cut the squares a little bigger and pair them with a some fresh fruit for a quick and easy dinner or brunch.

Now just like the crescent bites we've shared before them, these Crab Crescent Bites are truly super easy to make.  If you can chop, stir, and turn on an oven, you can make a batch of these crowd-pleasing tasty little bites.

Start by finely chopping about 3 or 4 cups of imitation crab meat.

Imitation crab can be found in the refrigerated fish/shellfish section of the grocery store, and typically comes in a sealed plastic pouch-type package.  You'll need about 14 to 16 ounces for this recipe.

If you can chop, stir, and turn on an oven, you can make a batch of these crowd-pleasing tasty little bites.

When chopping it, get that crab meat chopped pretty small -- we tried this recipe with just coarsely chopping the imitation crab, and the chunks are pretty prone to just falling out of the crescent bites when you eat them.  It was kind of annoying.

When chopped small, the crab meat better mixes in with the other filling ingredients and stays put within the crescent bites when you bite into them.

I mince mine up pretty small, about like this:

Then mix the finely chopped imitation crab with a block of softened cream cheese, a bit of mayonnaise, and some chopped green onion.

Unroll a tube of crescent roll dough on a baking sheet, and spread the crab mixture on top of the dough.

Top the crab mixture with another roll of crescent dough and gently press the edges together to adhere them.

Pop the pan in the oven and bake it all up until the crescent rolls are golden brown.

Then cut the whole thing into small squares and serve up the creamy crabby deliciousness!

I use a pizza cutter to cut my squares - it  makes really quick and easy work of the cutting.
