It's hard to resist a recipe made with crescent rolls.

Whether it's a savory appetizer like our very favorite 3-ingredient crescent sausage bites, a main dish like ground beef broccoli pie, or a decadently delicious sweet treat like pumpkin cheesecake crescents, crescent rolls just seem to make everything they come in contact with darn tasty.

And these Crescent Roll Peach Dumplings are no exception.

If you can stir and use a knife, you can make this dessert.  And it takes all of about 10 minutes to prep these beauties for the oven.

In this delectably mouthwatering dessert, rich puffy crescent roll dough wraps around and embraces fresh peach quarters to create little peach-filled dumplings.  The dumplings are then drenched in buttery cinnamon-sugar - making for one delicious dessert that's truly hard to resist.

And for as fabulous as these peachy dumplings taste?  It's hard to believe they're so super easy to make.

Truly, if you can stir and use a knife, you can make this dessert.  And it takes all of about 10 minutes to prep these beauties for the oven.

So just how do you make Crescent Roll Peach Dumplings?  Let's take a look.

Start by cutting some fresh peaches into quarters.

You can peel the peaches if you'd like.  But I don't bother peeling them - the skins bake up tender enough for us.  And not peeling makes this super easy dessert just that much easier.

Unroll a package of crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles.

Place a peach quarter at the wide end of one of the crescent roll triangles.

Then roll the dough around the peach to form the dumpling, starting with the wide dough end and wrapping to the small end.

The dough should completely encase the peach quarter, but don't worry if a little bit of peach is sticking out - it'll all be fine.

Repeat this wrapping process with the remaining peach quarters, and place the dumplings in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Once the peach quarters are all wrapped and snuggled into the baking dish, make the cinnamon-sugar topping.

In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon.

Spoon the buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top of the peach dumplings in the pan.

Generously coat each dumpling, using up all the cinnamon-sugar.

Then?  Pour in some Sprite (or other lemon-lime) soda and bake it all up.

It may sound bizarre to pour in Sprite, and believe me - that's what I thought the first time I heard of this dumpling recipe.  But the Sprite does two beautiful things:

  1. It combines with the cinnamon-sugar mixture to create a really wonderful syrupy "sauce" underneath the dumplings.
  2. The soda helps the dumplings bake up tender on the bottom while the top develops a wonderfully almost crisp-textured cinnamon-sugar crust on the top.

When pouring in the Sprite, just be sure to pour it in between the dumpling rolls - not over them.  Pouring the soda onto the dumplings knocks off all that tasty cinnamon-sugar coating on top.  And we want to keep that intact.

When these beauties come out of the oven, you'll have one peachy comfort food dessert deliciously drenched in buttery cinnamon-sugar.  And it's one peachy dessert that's truly hard to resist.

Serve the Crescent Roll Peach Dumplings while they're still warm - they're so good that way.

Never fear if you think you can't eat a whole pan full of these peach dumplings - the leftovers reheat really nicely.

And add a dollop of whipped cream or scoop of vanilla ice cream if you’d like.  Either one is fabulous with the dumplings - or they're great just plain, too.

Never fear if you think you can't eat a whole pan full of these peach dumplings - the leftovers reheat really nicely.

But if you love them as much as our family does, you may just be surprised to see there are no leftovers left!
