Are you getting your ghosts, ghouls, and goblins ready for Halloween?  Yes, it's that time of year to be stocking up on Halloween candy, picking out costumes, and prepping for any Halloween festivities you've got going on.

We're pretty low-key about Halloween around here at , sticking to just some basic trick-or-treating and a pumpkin carving or two to celebrate this ghoulish day.  But we do also enjoy a fun and festive Halloween drink or two, too!

Drop in a set of plastic vampire teeth to add to the Halloween cocktail fun.  A Halloween-inspiring drink garnish doesn't get much easier than that!

For our 9-year-old Miss H., it's a brightly-orange-colored 2-ingredient orange creamsicle or orange creamsicle Shirley Temple drink.  Or, if we're feeling like really being in the Halloween theme, a jack-o-lantern Mason jar drink with an easy orange slice pumpkin topper.

But for us grown-ups, we'll take something with a little more kick!

Like this rum and peach Schnapp's-based Dracula's Blood Cocktail.  With its deep dark red color conjuring up the creepy conduct of Dracula, it's simply perfect for Halloween sipping.

And what could be more Dracula-ish than a set of vampire fangs?  To make this cocktail even more festive, drop in a set of plastic vampire teeth to add to the Halloween cocktail fun.  A Halloween-inspiring drink garnish doesn't get much easier than that!

Grenadine is a sweet bright red syrup made from pomegranates.  You can find Grenadine in a small bottle in the drink mixers section of the grocery store (or order Grenadine from Amazon).

You only need a splash of 2 teaspoons of Grenadine for each Dracula's Blood Cocktail, just to mix in a little hint of sweetness.  We tested the drink with different amounts (1, 2, and 3 teaspoons) and like 2 teaspoons best.  But if you'd like a sweeter drink, adjust the amount of Grenadine to suit your personal taste.

If you can't find Grenadine, maraschino cherry juice can be used instead in a pinch.  Just pour off a little of the juice from a jar of cherries.  Be aware the finished drink won't be quite as darkly colored, though.  Grenadine really helps enhance the deep red color of this cocktail.

Dark cherry juice can be found in the juice aisle of the grocery store.  There aren't many brands that make it, and typically we only find one brand of it in our local grocery store. -- R.W. Knudsen Just Black Cherry juice, which is what we use.

We also tested this drink with both cranberry juice and cran-strawberry juice -- and we just didn't like either one.  The flavor just wasn't great, and the color definitely wasn't as dark.

We highly recommend looking for and sticking with the dark cherry juice to whip up your Dracula's Blood Cocktails for Halloween.

When it comes to garnishing this fun and festive cocktail, a set of plastic vampire teeth are just perfect for Halloween.  The white color of the teeth really pop against the dark red of the cocktail itself.

Just simply drop a set of the teeth on the top of the cocktail and they'll float there, perching ghoulishly on top.

If you can't find fresh cherries for garnish, use jarred maraschino cherries instead.

We love the combination of both vampire teeth and a fresh cherry as garnish.  But you could skip the vampire teeth and just use a cherry if you'd like.

Fresh cherries may be difficult to find around Halloween as it's not cherries' peak season.  If you can't find fresh cherries, use jarred maraschino cherries instead.

Happy Halloween!
