Crisps have got to be one of my absolute favorite desserts. I love how easy they are to make, with just a handful of simple ingredients.  And I just adore the combination of their tender fruit filling and crispy crumble topping.

Not to mention, crisps can be made with just about any kind of fruit.  I think we're all most familiar with good-old apple crisp.

But one of my favorites?  Fresh blueberry crisp. It's like you get all the great flavors of a scrumptious blueberry pie, without the fuss of a crust.  Just a fabulous blueberry filling with a super easy-to-make streusel crisp topping.

Crisps have got to be one of my absolute favorite desserts. I love how easy they are to make, with just a handful of simple ingredients.

Or how about pear-walnut crisp? It's just divine the way the flavor of the tender pears combines with the walnuts' crunch!

Or, fresh strawberry crisp? Another family favorite, for sure.  Especially in early spring when the strawberries from our local fields are ripe and plentiful.

So with peaches coming into season, I figured a fresh peach crisp would be tasty, too.

And I'm happy to say, my hunch was right.  Peach crisp is tasty, indeed!

With fresh peaches, a hint of cinnamon, and a brown sugar-oats crumble on top, how could it not be tasty.  Right?

Just as with any other kind of crisp, this peach crisp is super easy to to make, too.

To make it, all I did was peel and slice up some fresh peaches.  Then placed them in a 9x13" baking dish and sprinkled the peaches with sugar, cornstarch, fresh lemon juice, and ground cinnamon, tossing everything together to get the peaches well coated.

Just as with any other kind of crisp, this peach crisp is super easy to to make, too.

Alternatively, you could toss everything together in a mixing bowl instead if you'd like.  And then pour the coated peaches into the baking dish.

I just find it just as easy to mix them straight in the baking dish ... and love dirtying one less dish.  In our house, we call that "dish conservation!"

Once the peaches were coated, I baked them for about 15 minutes on their own before adding the topping.  I've found after making this peach crisp a few times that, to be tender, the peaches need a little more time to bake than the topping does.

So I borrowed a baking technique from my favorite Brandied Peach Cobbler, and baked the peaches for a bit prior to putting on the topping.

I've found after making this peach crisp a few times that, to be tender, the peaches need a little more time to bake than the topping does.

While the peaches baked, I mixed up a streusel crumble topping with flour, old-fashioned oats, brown sugar, a little more cinnamon, and butter.

I sprinkled this all over the top of the partially-baked peaches and then continued baking everything for about another 40 minutes ...

I baked the crisp until the peaches were tender, bubbly around the edges, and the topping was light golden brown.  You want to get those peaches nice and bubbly ...

I must say, the combination of fresh peaches, a hint of cinnamon, and brown sugar sure makes for one tasty bite.

So now this Fresh Peach Crisp has joined the ranks of my favorite desserts.

As with my other favorite crisps, I love how easy it is to make, with just a handful of simple ingredients.  And I adore the combination of its tender peach filling and crispy brown sugar-laced crumble topping.

Served either warm or chilled, it's just perfect for enjoying those fresh summer peaches.  Enjoy it just plain, topped with a dollop of whipped cream, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream alongside.  You can't go wrong either way!
