Chocolate Martini {Tony Roma's Copycat}
Enjoy pure chocolate decadence with this rich and delicious Chocolate Martini. What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day?
Happy Valentine's Day! Or, as I like to think of it, Happy Chocolate Day! And nothing says pure chocolate decadence like a chocolate martini.
With chocolate being one of our favorite flavors in desserts, how can we go wrong with it in a drink? Personally, I don't think we can.
Now traditionally, chocolate martinis are a combination of just two ingredients - vodka and white creme de cacao. But I like this jazzed up Tony Roma's copycat version much better! The combination of liquors and chocolate syrup give this martini delicious rich chocolate flavor.
I'm just not woman enough for the straight-up-just-two-liquors kind of chocolate martini.
To make this cocktail even more decadent than it already is, embellish the rim of your martini glass with a little shaved chocolate. I like to mix a bit of granulated and turbinado sugar in with the chocolate. It makes it sparkle a little and looks extra pretty that way.
To coat the rim, simply combine about a teaspoon each of granulated and turbinado sugar and some shaved chocolate in a shallow dish. I shave my chocolate with a rasp grater, but a cheese grater works just fine too.
Moisten the rim of the glass with water or vodka, and dip the rim in the chocolate-sugar mixture.
To make the martini, fill a cocktail shaker with ice, add the liquors and some chocolate syrup, and give the shaker a little shake, shake, shake.
{Don't have a cocktail shaker? No problem. Simply pour the ingredients into a large glass two-thirds full of ice cubes and stir well. Then strain the mixture into your martini glass.}
Once shaken, pour the mixture into the prepared glass.
Then enjoy this rich chocolate martini decadence to celebrate Chocolate Valentine's Day! Or, to celebrate ANY day, for that matter.
