Pumpkin Juice | A Harry Potter Halloween
This sweet and flavorful pumpkin juice is the perfect fall drink. Serve it hot or cold for an unforgettable sweet treat!
Hello friends! I'm back with the second recipe in my Harry Potter Halloween series, and this one is a great one. This homemade pumpkin juice is so sweet, flavorful, and delicious! It's totally refreshing, and is equally delicious served either hot or cold. It combines two of my favorite classic flavors for fall, pumpkin and apple, and it's made with just a handful of simple ingredients.
I have to confess, I wasn't sure exactly what to think about pumpkin juice when I read about it in the books. Is it supposed to be savory? Sweet? How pumpkin-y is it? The flavor of it is never really described, although it is described as "ice cold" several times. It seems to be a beverage that Harry and his friends really enjoy, since they drink it at breakfast and order it from the trolley on the Hogwarts Express. With that in mind, I knew that my homemade version had to be delicious!
There were mountains of cakes and flagons of pumpkin juice and butterbeer on every surface.
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
I did some research on Pinterest, and found that most of the copycat recipes start with an apple cider base, which definitely seems like the best way to do it. The juice has a good amount of pumpkin, without giving it an overwhelming pumpkin flavor. The pumpkin and apple combine beautifully with the spices, to make a delicious drink that tastes like the essence of fall. It's a little thicker and heartier than apple cider, but still very smooth and refreshing.
I like this pumpkin juice best served warm, but it's delicious either hot or cold. Make sure to use a good quality apple cider, since it's one of the main components of the recipe. I used fresh cider from a local apple farm, and it was totally amazing!

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
